Hello Maurice.

24 Jan 05 04:47, you wrote to me:

ebx or whatever, weird it is, but I do like it, just a pity I cannot get it to
work, it really tickles my fancy ...

 RT>> This board will run at 66, 68, 75, 83, 95, 100, 112, or 124Mhz

Have got a good one, but I am not really that adventurous .... :-)

 RT>> Note 2 possible settings for 300MHz

MK> That is weird. The 333 should run on a 100MHz fsb but perhaps that
MK> board is different then the board I tried it on.

Hmm .... something tells me there is a formula that will giveyou the possible
freq. and multiplier ratios ,that are likely to work, just don't know where to
look ask, not that it bothers me much, will stick to what the book says ...

RT>> So the debate goes like this, do I leave well enough alone, or do
RT>> I put the AMD chip on the board?

MK> Up to you. The k6-2's are good cpu's. I prefer them over Intel
 MK> socket 7's.

Have used a few, no real preference here, they must just work ...

RT>> If I put it on the board, is it worthwhile upping the freq. from
RT>> 95 to a 100, and run it at 350MHz, and if that works, up the
RT>> multiplier from 3.5x to 4x and run it at 400MHz.

MK> Depends on the board but it can be overclocked. I'd leave it at 350
MK> if it is doable. If you do decide to send the ebx back I'll try it
MK> with an actual 350 and send that with the board if I can get it going.

Can do, have another bottle of pepperdews with you name on it, a bit hotter
than the last bottle. :-))

RT>> Figure it should run at 350MHz without problems, don't expect it
RT>> will like being "promoted" to 400MHz, but I still might try it,
RT>> at 350MHz at least, tho I might get brave and see what 400MHz is
 RT>> like.

MK> Heh, heh. I got more if the worst happens.

The cpu does not worry me, I really don't want to burn the motherboard ... , I
can always put the 200MMX back on there if it survives. :-)
