If you (or any other user) only have dialup internet access the
CNR might be less useful than it would be for those with
broadband internet access.

If the CNR didn't work for you I seriously doubt grabbing
software at random from Debian repositories will work any
better.  There are dependencies involving other parts of
linux that may or may not be identical within Linspire's
OS.

It does 'seem' to be an alternative to Windows for some (from
my perspective as a spectator and not a participant). The other
alternative to Windows would be APPLE but that OS is not free
and CS may not be able to get you free downloads for that one. :-)
