I know about kermit.  Good stuff for sure, especially on Linux since you get
the full meal deal, especially if you compile it yourself with all the needed
bells, whistles, etc.

I've seen it, up to a couple days ago.  However I still claim that a well
thought out minimalized linux system is infinitely better for the same tasks.

Same here.  Again that is why I use Linux.  I bet you'd have a tougher time
getting the $10 scsi array to work on DOS then I will with Linux.  ;-) 

I find all sorts of deals around on whatever expensive hardware that nobody
seems to be able to get working, especially wrt Windows.

I found a agp graphic card with inputs and onboard graphic processors (risc)
originally valued at ~$2000 for $25.  Has a Matrox G200 chip.  I am still
patiently awaiting for it as I think it would be great for digitizing all sorts
of graphics.  We'll see.  All I know for sure is that even as a vga card it is
good since I happen to have Matroxes, both pci and agp, with the G200 and they
work fantastic.  The one coming has more onboard ram then I am used to as well.

The thing with the XP formatted ones is that there is nothing physically wrong
with them.  Just trashed is all.  Same with some of the HDs I encountered from
Win2k awhile back.
