Hello Tom -

My primary concern is "where can you go with Xandros" over the
next few years? With a name like Xandros it just doesn't sound
like it will be around a year or two from now.

TW> And i nMY case MY Standard Modem Wroks with it UNLIKE

I do empathize with how frustrating it is when an OS will not
communicate with other machines for whatever reason. People do
say "it's not a problem" then when you try to get it going they
disappear and leave you blowing in the wind. Been there, done
that. I do, however, think all linux are similar enough that
the 'fix' for the modem not being recognized or being set at
too slow a connect is a simple manual fix that shouldn't be
used to under-rate the entire distribution.

TW> And it appears to be Tailores for three levels of User.
TW> Home Computer, Business, Networking/Server??

Granted it _sounds_ good.

I personally try to 'live' with an OS for at least six months
before damning it to h*ll with all the other failures. A few
speed bumps don't signify a lousy OS although they do signify a
lack of effort on the part of whoever packaged the installer.

If the OS is any good at all we only install once (or twice)
and then not again for _years_. How good, or not good, the
install package is does not determine how much use (enjoyment)
we might get from the OS once the dust settles. :-)
