Ärende: Mozilla Suite
=====================
->snipped<-

CS>Actually, the Mozilla Suite included in Linspire 5 worked well. Even the
CS>newsreader (a bit clumsy) worked OK. If you take notice, the
CS>Mozilla Suite is a throw back to an older version of Netscape Internet
CS>Suite offered for Windows. I wasn't impressed with it, but it did work.
CS>Of course I'd rather use Firefox and Pan separately for internet access
CS>and reading replying to newsgroups.

CS>The bad thing about Mozilla Suite included with Linspire, is that it can't
CS>be removed without breaking some other things. BTW, that's the way
CS>Linspire is designed. When installed, it's best to leave things alone
CS>that are already included. It's OK to add software - that seems not to do
CS>any harm.

CS>Have you installed Kubuntu yet? I'm working with the new version (5.10)
CS>right now. A bit bloated because of the new KDE but othewise seems to be
CS>working OK. Like most Linux distros it has its bugs but it's a lot
CS>of fun working through them and resolving them yourself. The
CS>Kubuntu forums have been great in that respect.

I finnaly acquired a working copy of kubuntu-510-live-i386.iso
via my XYLs H-P XP and burned a working Live-CD on my old CompUSA
WorkSeries backup desktop PC.

First useage on my PowerSpec 1405 PC with its OEM limping linspire
OS, without incidence prompts me to consider installing it on a
externally USB2 connected hard drive to my limping SysteMax Tiger
PC to enable a one on one comparisome (taped highlights at 11/11 ?-)
(This kinda eliminates possible hardware faults may be contributing
to the problems the Linspire Five-0 OS has developed.

Stay young, OldAck

CS> TA>>> If it is a

CS> MA>> I would have thought that the unusual implementation of Mozilla
CS> MA>> would have rung alarm bells. You can not only run your the raw termina
CS> MA>> but you can use any GUI tools to control your server and your network.

CS> MA>> I can understand people using a web browser to move files between disk

CS> TA> Ageed. Browser transfers not my general practice.

CS> MA>> Use a file manager to manage files and a web browsers to brows the web
CS>:)

CS> TA> Agreed. Mozilla has been my web browser of choice here and in windose
CS> TA> for over two years at least (prior several years use by Opera and
CS> TA> only use M/S IE when I had to access M/S sites for patchs, etc.).
