I'll have to take your word on that seeing that I personally never do things
that way to start with.  

All I know for sure is that using the matroxfb with mplayer and mga_vid will
work on systems without a gui thus requiring less ram then would be possible
otherwise.  Couple that with a boot/root ttylinux on flash disk and memory
requirements, as well as power, etc., are vastly minimalized.  Bottomline is
that this could work anywhere and would be vastly superior to all the crippled,
overpriced embedded crap I have ever seen.

Right.  For this experiment it proved worthwhile to start out with inputted
numbers that were designed to exploit a high resolution monitor and then
compare that with the original overbloated DVD format.  It proved to me that
DVD's aren't worth the extra effort to conform given that a far more suitable
format is readily available, albiet at the cpu's expense.  Mind you it only
needs to be done once.

I call bullshit.  Only when conforming to sheepleware is that true.

I guess you'll have to check the method I prescribe and see yourself if I am
right or not.  I think you'll be very pleased with the results.

What did I say previously about the pci g200 card?  ;-)
