Right.  Firmware is the problem.  Just like the software modems of old, the
manufacturers are pushing their crap and making it windows only.  No surprise
there which is why there are no wireless cards on any machine here, nor any
overpriced crappy laptops now that I think about it.  There are better ways to
get wireless working without resorting to that unwinnable game.  They can keep
them.

Why bother?  Stick with Windows if that is what you need/want.

Not really.  I have found a better way without resorting to Windows and the
whoever wants Windows can connect just fine.

And many that can't, such as sata hotswapping which I have working in Linux.  I
have yet to see a Windows box that can hotswap other then usb and even that is
questionable.

The point is that nobody wants it, nevermind just Linux users.  The few who do
seem content to slap together what is available for the time being while we all
sit and watch the hobby die.  Some have expressed they wish to be the last node
standing.
