I saw somewhere that they may have relatives here on North America thought to
have come here prior to or around the end of the last ice age.  There is both
archeological and genetic evidence to support that theory.  I think it was they
have a common ancenstor.

Those were one of the three 'tribes'.  I think it was Kublai who decided to
split their efforts and one group called the "Golden Horde" is the one
responible for all the trouble in Europe.  He himself was part of the group
running the show in China (I don't recall what the other two groups were
called) while the third took care of Persia and surrounding area.

That I know little about other then the Assyrians <sp?> used to rule that basic
part of the world way back when.

I think I saw something about that on a Nova episode about the Human Genode
Project or whatever it is called.  Something like that.
