I just thought echoes with Linux users and eCS users were the logical places to
ask.  Then again, I was never good at logic.

I'm keeping copies of all the good advice I'm getting.  I'm not ready to try
the install yet (one reason bring my friend is fixing my tape drive, and I do
nothing this major without backing up first), but I will do it at some point. 
Right now, my primary interest in Linux is that I believe there are reliable
browser plugins for it that don't have OS/2 equivalents (video players and
such), and I'd rather avoid Windows if at all possible.  *adh*
