Amen.  That is the same situation here.  Good to figure out priorities before
making any commitment, especially financial when that happens to be the
greatest limitation.

For sure.  Also I think the best from my observations even if finances are more
liberal then they are.

Excellent plan.  Doing it that way will keep you sharp and I am sure it'll be
second nature to you eventually.

Understood.  That has been my experience as well.

Again agreed.  If you find the commandline getting out of hand due to any
speciallized needs it can be either aliased or scripted if and when that rears
it's ugly head.  Most of my usuage for MPlayer is pretty straight forward but
in the past I've noticed that seldom is there a generic one size fits all when
it comes to things like DVDs and the like.

Heh, heh.  Join the club.  :-)

It reports the space used and the space remaining for partitions.  Use 'du' to
report how much whatever requires.  For instance 'du -h /usr' will tell you how
much space all the stuff in /usr (including subdirectories) will require.

I am sure we can do better then that.  If usb works I can send you everything
you need.  It doesn't have to be bootable and you tesing my idea will be of
benefit to us both.  Definetly a win-win situation.

For sure, Fido or not.  It's starting to take root.  I could use a fellow Fido
