A conundrum.

clarifying that to death.

I didn't think it right and ethical to make a claim of defect in merchandise
under normal wear and tear conditions as the head crashed during a little

I call them gathering dust so far as I'm concerned.
Just ran into a I/O Magic USB case that while working and proof of concept
for me doesn't inspire much confidence.

Got one of their pieces of overpriced junk SFX PS machines sitting on the desk
broken and half gutted.
Lame network card NE2000, aforementioned SFX power supply, software  Winmodem
and Windows dependent sound card, wait, it's a dual purpose sound card-modem.

Mostly Linux non-compliant I did managed to beat it into submission
by semi-gutting it, installing a Turtle Beach sound card, adding an extenal
modem
Then of course the underated SFX PS smoked.
Makes a handy paperweight when the wind picks up in my bedroom.

Seagate and WD work fine so long as the psychotic girlfriends are kept away.
Correction: Psychotic girlfriend singular and thankfully long absent.
Never had either Seagate nor WD brand fail from normal wear and tear.

I got a Motorola modem T-short for filling out a web questionaire in the mail
free
just before they left the modem business.
It's a good quality T-shirt and a nice logo too.

 ITMT I'm rather happy with the recycled box I salvaged.
 In the list server I'm a member of there's a hardware proffessional
 that builds them big expensive screamingly bleeding edge systems
 for his clients and then goes home to his many salvaged systems running
 flavors of *nix and *BSD.

 He thought my one post to that list server in the three years I've been on it
 amusing as he too favors his salvage or garage sale gotten goods over the
stuff
 he builds for his customers.
