Ärende: Software glitch

Hey Ross!

I still don't believe that and said so right from the start.

I'll have to take your word on that. I still don't believe it enough to bother
with that lame OS. Never did like it ever and never did subject myself to that
hype. What for?

Same here. Same with scanning for dupes. Too much DOS-think no matter what
OS.

RC> Something Wayne doesnt know but you should, regardless of what

Yep but some OS's know to provide the good stuff right out of the box. I was
sold on Linux the moment I laid eyes on a 486 running an early Slackware in
console mode. A math professor's at UVic. He even fired up X just to show off
but it was the console that impressed me. Still does even after all the years
and years.

RC> As I have 3 boxes here, 2 Windows and one Xandros Linux (a deb), I

Better be beefed up. I heard it is a bigger pig then ever on resources. Seems
hard to believe that it could get piggier but that is the word. That should
bring RAM prices way down which won't hurt my feelings any (ddr2).

Waste of mice and keyboards methinks.

RC> Too bad the multiplicity authors done have a version for Linux, but I

They can keep it. Don't need it, never did, hopefully never will. I can run
multiple boxes with just a garden variety Linux - or BSD for that matter -
without any stinkin' third party DOS-think crap. They can keep their rebates
too!!! Heh, heh.

That can work. I was just using telnet on a trusted lan but am playing with
dropbear lately which is a neat little program along the line of ssh. Some
University geek in Australia came up with it. Runs great on the wireless
network here.

RC> One of the things I found cool with Xandros is it came with
RC> Crossover, for kicks I got it to install MSIE v5 and it runs!!<G>

Never heard of it. I've heard of Xandros but haven't run across anyone whose
tried it in this neck of the woods. Personally I like customizing Slackware
and have been doing that since my Linux beginnings and now ttylinux as well. I
want to hack a wireless router but got distracted playing with a wireless pci
card and one of the neighbour's homegrown antennas. May not need a router as
it turns out, hacked or otherwise.

We know how to have fun here at Kumalockasun.

Life is good,
Maurice
