The difference is that all these messages are going beyond the Fido network. 
I've lost users over that very issue despite having nothing to do with that sad
state of affairs.  I've seriously thought about dropping Fido altogether over
the issue but I don't seem to mind the opportunity at taking pot shots at the
obviously handicapped web dweebs and their lack of proper controls.

You can quote me on that too.  :-)

Ah!  I never checked that far.  Just a sec ...

'du -h' of the Firefox directory shows 58.3M.  How much of that screws proper
ftp transfers?  Furthermore comparing a regular ftp client (ncftp at the
moment) shows around 800k and can handle all transfers properly.  Both of those
are pure 64-bit btw and in Firefox's case doesn't take into account the extra
dependencies it requires.  Given all this I doubt very much Firefox has
anything to offer given it's obvious overbloatedness.

Same here but I'd rather use all that for something of consequence.  So far I
haven't seen anything on the web to justify Firefox or anything like it.

Heh, heh.  Not an issue at all here.  I've got better stuff and have never
needed to sink down to that level.  :-)
