Exactly, I am moderately comfortable with a current distro, and prefer a gui,
I have to work with windows.. and am looking very forward to Novel's Mono
Project, which will offer to free me from the MS Shackles a bit more on the
server.. but I will still likely use windows for my own desktop, if only
that it suits me better.. I get what I want done, can run what I want, and
generally don't have issues installing things... Linux has come a long way,
and as a server-os it's about as perfect as it gets.. but has a ways to go
on the desktop IMHO.

Know what you mean, I don't like running all the windows stuff at work, I
do like asp.net as a platform better than alternatives, but would still
rather use firebird, postgre, db2, or mysql for a database server...

I like OSX a bit, just wish it wasn't tied to their hardware, not that I
would trust apple to leave an open OS for other hardware after what they
did to the mac-clone market a few years ago.

True enough, and nice to see others without a blind devotion to the one
thing... lol.. almost as bad as language/platform wars when new development
technology comes out.. :D
