===============================================================================
From: "The REAL J-Len!" <lentzj1@tds.net>

I remember it was around 1987-88 or so. Monty Python was being shown on MTV
right after Remote Control. After Remote Control was over, I left MTV on and
this animated guy comes on and does this opening that I swear was an MTV thing
(because I haven't seen it anywhere else): He says, "Monty Python's Flying
Circus has been found to be an easily offensive tool in the eyes of the easily
offended so if you're one of them, do us both a favor and don't watch. Thank
you, and God bless."
Next thing I know, I'm watching a girl undress near a window (pretty arousing
for a 12-13 year old), a zoo animal explode, then a guy take flying lessons the
hard way, a few more zoo animals explode, then this show called "It's The Mind"
and the host going crazy on it...and I laughed my ASS off, and never looked
back! I turned on the next day and saw the Bicycle Trip. So I remember the
first two Monty Python shows I ever watched, and remembered them when I found
out they were on tape.

As for the comedy albums, I noticed my brother had "Instant Record Collection"
and swiped it to listen to without his permission. I put it in my boom box
near my bed and listened to it as I lay there drifting off (though my eyes
popped wide open and I laughed silently when Karl Marx said "aw shit" when he
lost out on the lounge suite [I was 13-14 at the time]). After the tape was
done, I was too tired to put it back, so I just stopped the tape, and thought
"I'll put it away in the morning. No big deal." and went to sleep.
About 4AM, my brother (who was somewhat a raging alcoholic at the time) walks
in my bedroom, turns on the light, wakes me up, holds the tape case in front of
my face, and demands to know where the tape is. I pulled it out of the boom
box and gave it to him, and he was all "Don't fuck with my shit!" "Do it again,
and we'll have a long fuckin talk!" He made me feel bad that night,
considering I wasn't trying to steal it or anything. I just wanted to listen
to it.

Movies: The first was Holy Grail in my high school band class. The second was
Life of Brian, which my friend Ken brought over. I loved LoB better at the
time due to the full frontal nudity in it. I later rented And Now For
Something Completely Different and Meaning of Life to take them in.

Well that's me.
