There is a OS supplied programming interface to properly update file 
MMPM2.INI.
I used it to write the deinstaller for UNIAUD so people don't have to muck 
around with MMPM2.INI
with all those issues (MMOS2.INI overwritten on shutdown with working copy 
MMPM2.!!! etc.) involved.
Maybe one of these days I am going to write an application where the user 
can specify a device by name and
then it will subsequently be deleted from MMPM2.INI.

If the day only had 48 hours ...
