A used one shouldn't be more expensive than 5 bucks.  2940UWs go for 10 Euros
here in Germany.

Well, QLogic still is? BusLogic was bought by Mylex, Mylex was bought by IBM
and was later sold to LSI Logic IIRC. QLogic might focus on Fiber Channel only
now?

There were not many VL bus SCSI HABs and only a few of them are acceptable from
my POV. Remember, you're limited to Fast SCSI (Narrow, 10 MB/sec. max.).

The only HABs I would recommend are:

- Adaptec AHA-2840A/VL, AHA-2842A/VL
  I guess the VL models are full retail versions?  The xxx2 models have an
  additional floppy connector.  Driver AIC7770.ADD is shipped with the OS.

- BusLogic BT-440C, BT-445C/S
  I owned a 445 myself and was so satiesfied I got a (used) 747S for my EISA
  machine and a 930 for my PCI machine later.  (All sold years ago.) The 440
  has no floppy connector. Driver BTSCSI.ADD is shipped with the OS.

- QLogic QLA400-VL/QLA402-VL Fast!SCSI VESA/FL
  Difference is the floppy connector like with Adaptec (model numbers).
  Driver QL40OS2.ADD is shipped with the OS.

Well, there were various UltraStor Ultra 34 models. I almost bought one, but it
was a large full sized board with lots of ICs.  So I got the BusLogic one which
uses the same SCSI chip (QLogic FAS216) BTW.
