Ärende: eCS 1.2 + Mozilla
=========================
Nothing to it Bat!

BL> I'll take another look at all of this, but a source URL would be
BL> appreciated. I have seen the word 'Seamonkey' but never paid any
BL> attention, as I had no use for any other browser than Mozilla 1.7.5, and
BL> which still satisfies me in all regards other than lacking the 'resume'
 BL> feature on dnlds.

Here's Peter's main page for this and build URL's for your plinking:

   http://weilbacher.org/Mozilla/index.html

   http://weilbacher.org/Mozilla/builds.html

BL> Whenever I can, I opt for the ftp mode and use Nftp,
BL> which is my preferred dnld mode. However, whilst on the Mensys website,
BL> trying to acquire their 1.2R media refresh files, I was stuck with using
BL> the browser, as I couldn't figure out how to kluge (I used to know how)
BL> the addressing to satisfy their userID and password entries, which is
BL> a knotty problem in an ftp mode, but quite easy on their website, that
BL> is, UNTIL a 533Mb file aborts after 475Mb. {^; I still have the stub,
BL> but have since been trying to get the CD's thru BMTMicro. You'd think I
BL> was asking for the family jewels. }^:

Hmmmmm ... I'm not looking at the past posts from you. Thus I dunno how or why
this may be related to broadband or POTS download. Erk, 533MB on POTS? Yeah
that would be a potfull. ;(

BL> Why would I give up Mozilla (very well behaved) for an unknown upstart
BL> called Seamonkey? There's gotta be more to it than a crude resume mode.

Because the entire Mozilla development has moved on past what you have toward
what replaces it totally; Seamonkey. Which is now in its third release toward
gloryland, whatever that might be. And the fixes in it include a fair number
of issues toward hijacking your information, not specifically OS/2 issues on
your box, but second-hand through where you visit and such. On Peter's site, I
think you can find citations toward the official OS/2 port page for it. Mike
Kaply is doing a wonderful job of continuing compilation and so on as this
moves forward. Peter has a more embellished non-official version of it. I've
been very happy with both of them for research here.

Here are the main page and build addresses:

   http://www.mozilla.org/ports/os2/

   ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/mozilla/nightly/contrib/latest-trunk/

Pay particular attention to the thoughts exposed via Pete's page pointers on
migration issues. When I migrated from the Moz 1.7.3 product which was Peter's
product, I simply over-installed his Seamonkey release as the INSTALLER version
into the same directory that held Mozilla here. It's in D:\MOZILLA on my
boxen. I had no trouble. However I was sure that I read and followed the
suggestions as to where to put the LIB5 DLL's for it, and so on.

IIRC you'll find that this one is the installer for that LIB5:

    4-15-04 6:38p 508945 0 libc051.exe

And I think you'll need to know about and eventually come to terms with if you
are not already using this stuff.

   11-12-04 2:03a 51094 0 ipluginw20041104.zip

      Which has in it:
         3-12-04 5:30p 60542 0 ipluginw.dll
        11-04-04 10:53a 60797 0 ipluginw.new
         3-12-04 4:42p 2584 0 ipluginw.txt And ..

    2-13-06 3:40p 51214 84 ipluginw20050915.xpi

And at this point the individual Calendar XPI that is working here is:

    3-19-06 3:06p 1109164 97 calendar-os2-18-20060319.xpi

Have fun!
