What you describe applies just as much to Passport as it does to any =
other site, either the NYT or sites where you buy stuff. There is no =
difference. I and millions of others use Passport in just this way. = Just
look at all the people that check their Hotmail accounts from = hotels,
internet cafes, and anywhere else away from home.
Single signin is not tracking. You have tried to make this bogus =
claim before. It's still not true.

remember me.
Second, a single multiple site signin/tracking service I personally =
view as too invasive.
So, what was it, the users not using passport or sites not using =

vigor they once had for it?

Second, if you look at some of the folks, who likely don't use =
Passport, posting to the recent slashdot item on Passport, say that they =
perceived it as similar to their running a password manager app on the =
client. This folks obviously do want to automate the process. Third, = IE and
other browsers contain password managers and people use them. = Lastly, you
have people that use the same user name and password = wherever they can and
keep it all written on post-its by the computer. = They are just trying to
make it easier.
In other words, one, people clearly do want to automate this. =
Two, Passport is not the same. It provides single sign-in where you = have one
identity (per passport) at multiple sites not multiple = identities, one per
site.
