   Because one describes a change in activity in response to a change =
you made and the other describes a change in activity for which you did =
nothing.  You made a conclusion in regard to the reponse to your change = that
while not scientific is justifiable.  There is no justification to = george's
conclusions or for that matter his rediculous claims that = spammers are
spoofing your DNS or for some reason have selected your = email server to
configure as in the MX record for their own domains.  A = far simple
explaination to you getting increased volume of NDRs is that = spammers are
sending more mail not that the protection afforded you by = SPF is bypassed. 
That no one, including you, has provided any evidence = of george's rediculous
suggestions or anything else to suggest it is = bypassed I see no reason to
believe george's claims.
