Internal Review At Pelosi's Office

On CNN's "Inside Politics" yesterday, Ed Henry reported that CNN has
learned that House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi's office has "been very
quietly conducting a thorough internal review of all the Democratic
Leader's travel and her staff travel..." CNN obtained an exclusive copy of
the internal review and it shows that in the last several years, Pelosi
staffers took 42 trips, of which 12 of them "were not reported promptly."
He noted, "the bottom line is this is beginning fodder for Republicans
already who are saying Democrats been very critical of some of Tom DeLay's
trips, but the more people start digging it looks like Democrats may have
some problems, too."

To say the least...

UPDATE: Eric Pfeiffer of NRO's "The Buzz" reveals Pelosi's hypocrisy for
attacking Tom DeLay for being a part of the KORUSEC trip while her own
staffer was a part of the same group:

Literally days before DeLay s trip, KORUSEC had changed its legal status
and registered as a foreign agent. Under House rules, members of Congress
and their staffs are not allowed to accept trips from such organizations.
However, KORUSEC admits failing to report the changes to DeLay and other
trip participants.  As with last week s Times reporting, the coverage on
this topic failed to mention the number of Democrats who also participated
in the trips. This did not stop House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, whose
own staff member had traveled with KORUSEC, from attacking DeLay. When
questioned directly, Pelosi acknowledged it was virtually impossible for
trip participants to know of KORUSEC s changed status. It took nearly a
week of reporting from NRO and other sources before major media outlets
began reporting Pelosi s connection.

The Pelosi aide, Eddie Charmaine Manansala, took a trip sponsored by the
council from June 26, 2004, through July 3, 2004, but only filed the
required disclosure form with the House on Wednesday.  A spokeswoman for
Pelosi, Jennifer Crider, said Manansala forgot to file her form last year
and did so after receiving a query from a reporter. The Washington Post
reported on the trips in Thursday's editions.
