Nothing wrong with that.  After all, many veterans participated as
delegates and alternates to the Democratic National Convention.

Active military personnel are not veterans.  Only after they have done
their time in the service are they considered veterans.

Veterans are not active military personnel.  Although some veterans can
be recalled to duty.  And once they are, they are no longer veterans.
Although once they have completed their service, they again will be
veterans.

Veterans and non-veterans alike are patriots.  What say you to that?
Heck, even active military personnel are patriots.  Bet you didn't think
of that.  ;)
