John, get on the net and hit some of the software outlets, and get yourself a
copy of Win 2000 Pro.  It will NOT nuke any of the stuff you have now, plays
nice with anything that works under XP, and will be supported till 2010, so its
viable.  There is also a huge chunk of businesses out there using Win2K because
its rock solid.
