We have a huge problem in this country.  It is called "illegal immigration." 
There are an estimated 20-25 million illegals in this country.  Too be sure,
many if not most of them are decent people, but they're still here under
illegal circumstances.

There is a shadow economy that goes along with them.  They are paid under the
table, at less than regular wages that we would pay our own people, yet there
is no accountability for them.  Most pay no taxes because they don't have legal
Social Security documents.  At the same time they utilize our school systems to
educate their kids, our hospitals for emergency medical care, they draw welfare
checks in many states.  They are a huge financial burden on this country at all
levels.

Politically, they are activists in large part for the La Raza Movement, which
is nothing less than taking back the entire Southwest and So. California as
Mexican territory.  Large numbers of them are illegally registered to vote,
which dilutes and skews the votes of real American citizens.

At one time, when we still had frontiers and room to spare, we welcomed anyone
who wanted to come here to make a new life for themselves and their families. 
But the frontiers are gone, the land is filled up, and we can no longer allow
indiscriminate immigration like the old days.  It used to be that when somebody
came here, they left their old way of life behind and made an effort to
assimilate and become Americans.  Now, they congregate in ethnic enclaves and
demand special treatment as minorities because they refuse to learn English,
and refuse to become citizens even as they stand there, hands held out, while
we pass out welfare and healthcare and education that costs them nothing.

Many people take umbrage at my hard line on immmigration, and think I'm
heartless and cruel.  Well, maybe I am, but its only out of necessity. The
problem won't get solved by them because they don't have the guts to stand up
and do what is needed to stop it.  We don't have the right to give away the
rights and benefits that previous Americans fought and died for because we feel
sorry for some guy who had the bad luck to be born in some other country.  We
owe our future generations a country that is at least as strong and free when
we hand it over to them as it was when WE got from our forefathers.  Allowing
the current situation on the borders to continue is selling their legacy down
the river, and I will do everything in my power to prevent that.
