Whoa! Up until recently, you could travel to and from Canada and Mexico without
much more that a driver's license or simple ID. A passport is much more than a
simple ID -- to get one you must provide your birth certificate and other proof
of citizenship. It costs upwards of $100 to get a passport.

Your comparisan is bogus.

JH> I hear all you people screaming about losing rights, but I don't hear

I have said before and I will say it again, make it more difficult for
employers to hire illegals. I'm talking of the employers who pay "coyotes" to
bring illegals across so they can bypass minimum wage laws.

With the employers out of the way, there is less reason to cross the border
illegally.

We could, but why should we?

Drop the righteous indignation act, John. I can criticize your suggestion all I
want.

"Were the pictures which have been drawn by the political
jealousy of some among us faithful likenesses of the human
character, the inference would be, that there is not
sufficient virtue among men for self-government; and that
nothing less than the chains of despotism can restrain them
from destroying and devouring one another."
