BF>>> Do your famous "reading between the lines" thing.
BF>>> Who, besides China, is the biggest oil dependant country?

 FS>> Lessee ... Japan? U.S.?

 BF>> Not in that order.
BF>> U.S. and then perhaps Japan.

 FS> OK ...

BF> And then you must have a certain intrest in the Iraqi oil, or....?

I would hope Iraqi oil production would increase to the extent
that petroleum prices drop ...

BF>>> Then you should be thankful to us as well.

FS>> Why? Any sale is supposed to be mutually beneficial!

BF>> Key words "supposed to be" but it isn't so.
BF>> I can't prove it but I think we buy more from you then you from us.

FS> And the significance of *that* is?

 BF> We support you welfare.

OK ... thank you ... heh heh heh ...

BF>> I once saw a list of most corrupt contries and that wasn't to your
 BF>> benefit......

FS> I'd suggest you abandon that reading source ... [sigh] ...

 BF> Why?
BF> No smoke without a fire.

Apparently you've never seen a smoke bomb in operation ...

FS>>> After all, some times your English is a bit screwed up.

BF> English cointaines of more than 3 times more words then Swedish.

*That* I didn't know. I've read that English is one of the
easiest languages to coin words in ... maybe that explains its
size -- assuming that's true.

BF>> As I have said, this isn't my mothers tongue so sometimes I do it wrong
BF>> but i'm working on it.

FS> I know, and I have no problem with it whatsoever.
FS> After all, your Swedish is undoubtedly far better than is *my* Swedish ...
FS> especially since I don't know even one *word* of Swedish ... heh heh heh
FS> ... OTOH, when you make some simple mistake in English I'm inclined to
FS> correct it, but *don't* since that might be perceived as an insult.

BF> Oh no, to me it isn't. Please, fell free to do it. I'm willing to
 BF> learn.

OK here's a common example: It's "speak" not "speek" even though
it's pronounced "speek" and a spoken statement is called a
"speech" ... confusing? Yep!

BF>> Then you should hear a German trying to speek Swedish....

FS> I read German far better than I speak or understand spoken German. When I
FS> was in college maybe 2/3 of the world's chemical literature was in German
FS> hence I *had* to learn it. By the time I retired the vast majority of
FS> chemical literature was either in English or there exists translated
 FS> journals in English.

BF> My wife have two cusins in Munich Gemany who "speeks" Swedish and
BF> they are so fun to listen to and I think they thinks the same about us
 BF> when speeking German.

I suspect that's the cause of amusement world-wide -- listening
to a foreigner speak one's language ... while I tend to consider
it funny I don't really feel any contempt for foreigners
mis-speaking English since I can't speak any other language
myself fluently.

... "Anything you'd like to do?" "Yes -- go into a coma."
