I can see you're one of those nit-pickers who doesn't get what "in a practical
sense" or "effectively" means.  When was the last time you saw somebody refuse
a rebate on an item advertised as "Free with Rebate" and how many store clerks
are going to ring it up as a separate sale and then a rebate?

Go to Amazon.com sometime and order something.  Most items at checkout, you can
choose "Free Shipping and Handling" if you aren't in a hurry to get it.  It
will be shown right on the invoice that way.

If I don't have to shell out any money, its free.  Period.  End of story.
