I think religion have done much damage and all in the name of whatever God
thay are praying to.
The Heaven and Hell didn't exist untill the Christians "invented" it in order
to
subdue the people. The priests had an enormous power back then and that old
grandma to my wife I have mentinoned before have told us horrible stories. She
never said who her father was but all think it was the priest. She was only a
simple housmaid and therefore a fair game.

What you are talking about here is the Queen of Light, Lucia, who originally
comes from Syracuse, Sicily, Italy. She have never had anyting to do with Santa
or the Christmas presents.
She comes on the darkest day of the year, December 13, to spread som light on
what we call the "winter-sun-stand-day" when we only here have about 6 hours
of daylight and if it's cloudy it's really dark. Up in the north it's almost
dark the
whole day contrary to the "summer-sun-stand -day" when the sun never sets and
that's called midsummer.
