I of course I referred to the Owl Salavatory Study done back in '97 that found
if you lubricated geological faults with owl spit, it could prevent
earthquakes.<g>

Its good to be back with a stable link. I would miss packets for long periods
of time, and when I did reply they would show up on the local system, but not
be tossed out into Fido.

Frustrating.

I was at the end of my rope and had started a yahoo group called fidopolitics
in hopes that as Fido died, we could keep things together and I would have
complete control over posts and posters.

That is still a problem with Fido, being able to stop people from breaking the
rules. Often sysops have left their systems on automatic and Fido offices in a
net were empty. Going up the chain would often do nothing. Especially with the
bouncers who would simply go from one system to another and I would have to
follow along.

With the yahoo group, none of that was an issue, plus we could get people back
like Matt Eggleston and James Wriker who found the means easy to keep up with.
I will still keep that going in case we need it.

But this method is nice, no other special software or setup from back in the
dark ages of Fido.

I get it right into my Netscape newsreader.

Very cool.
