And that brings us full circle -- to pay the current retirees, we take
money from current workers.  Every dime we take is one less dime they
have to save for THEIR future retirement.

The "whole thing" isn't nearly enough to solve the Social Security
problem.

How do we do that?

If we stop exporting jobs, we also stop IMporting jobs.  That would be a
major disaster.

TR>of do-gooders are afraid of scaring off some obscure creature that lives on

I agree we can do much to make ourselves more energy self-sufficient.
Personally, I would initiate a program to convert our over-the-road
truck fleet to 100% bio-diesel, and grow our own fuel right here.

The evidence is that most homeless people fall into the same category --
alcoholism, drugs and mental illness are almost universal among the
homeless.

No, there are not.  The vast majority of homeless are mental or
substance abuse cases.

That's a nice platitude, but it doesn't solve the problem.  How do you
provide homes for people who will leave those homes and wander the
streets from choice?

All of our military units are committed -- most of them are either
carrying out security missions, recovering from missions overseas, or
preparing to go overseas.  We don't have the troops.

If you want to solve the problem you have to start with the social
workers, teachers, and police who aren't allowed to tell the INS when
they find an illegal.  Then you have to get the INS to do something
about it.

All the troops in the world can't "seal" the border as long as illegals
can find sanctuary and protection once they are across.
