Its all relative.  First of all, the money they make consulting and managing is
but a fraction of what they made when they still owned the show, prior to
nationalization.  Secondly, are you aware of how difficult it is to find
qualified people who are willing to go to a foreign country where they are not
wanted, actively hated and often attacked and/or killed, away from their
families for two years at a stretch, and can't have the sort of amenities that
are commonplace in the US?  Those oil companies have to pay huge wages - tax
free - to get people to take on that kind of risk.  If you've paid attention at
all to the news, most of the people being kidnapped in Iraq and Saudi and other
places in the mideast are contract workers just like I'm talking about.

Now, me personally - you couldn't pay me enough to go work for those raghead
assholes.  It simply isn't worth the risk.
