It doesn't matter one whit what the NUMBERS state. I went out and voted,
dammit. Don't got telling me that I didn't or that I'm apathetic or lump me
in to those who the media say just don't care. I am America just as You are
America, and I VOTED. Are you saying that YOU did not vote? Are you saying
that YOU were apathetic about the vote? Cuz I sure am not.

JH> DP> It's wonderful that the Iraqi's are able to vote. We'll see how
JH> DP> it turns out.
JH>
JH> Yeah, right. We can all tell from your tone that you don't think it WILL
JH> out for the better. And when things get dicey, you'll turn around and pos
JH> something saying "See, I told you so. The Iraqi vote was a waste of time.

JH> won't hear diddly from you saying "good job" or something similar.

Bullsh1t! I've never said othewise. There's no place in this echo
where you can find that I ever said such a thing. And don't go
"paraphrasing" me into words I didn't say. Democracy (and the vote in
Iraq) is a wonderful thing. However the ends doesn't always justify the
means. Just because the Iraqi's are voting today doesn't mean that they
will be voting ever again. We still have to wait and see. I am certainly
skeptical of it, that's for sure. They had 30 years of Saddam, if they
didn't have the backbone, the drive, the want and the need of getting rid of
him, then they wouldn't have waited until we came along and handed
freedom to them on a silver platter. They've got to want it, collectively,
as a nation for it to make a difference how this vote ends up. Everybody's
patting themselves on the back about how they got to vote for the first time
ever. Well lets just sit back and see what they actually voted FOR.
