Ärende: Re: If It Ain't Broke
=============================
Hello Ed,

>LL>I fully admit to being a liar. Which proves my honesty. :)

EC>So, are you a pervert?

I wouldn't know. Maybe I am. Maybe I'm not. It all depends on what
the definition of "pervert" is. And who interprets it.

EC>No?

I could be. But I wouldn't know.

EC>Well, that proves you are. <g>

Perhaps. According to some.

>LL>Even in small things. When somebody asks you how you
>LL>are, you tell them you are fine, even if you are sick.

>EC>Is that what you do?

>LL>Among other things.

>LL>Or it could be a question about a loved one. And don't tell me you
>LL>don't lie while playing poker...

>EC>I don't.

>LL>A poker player who never bluffs is a lousy poker player. :)

EC>I'm a lousy poker player, but bluffing is not lying. When you
EC>ante up, you ante up for real. There's no lying involved.

Apparently you've never played strip poker. :)

>EC>I see that you deleted my question about the unions investing their
>EC>pensions in the stock market. Was that honest on your part. No, you
>EC>would rather dance around and proclaim that the sky is falling rather
>EC>than face reality.

>LL>Union members pay dues. That is not the same thing as social
>LL>security, or investing in pensions or the stock market.

>EC>The issue is, the union has all these funds that represent future
>EC>pensions for their members. So what do they do with these funds.
>EC>Stick them between their mattresses? Nah, they invest in the stock
>EC>market. Why? Because that is how they can get a good return on their
>EC>investment. Do the Democrats really believe that investing in the
>EC>stock market is too risky? No. That's just what they say to convince
>EC>suckers to let them keep the money. You are either buying their
>EC>illogical arguments or you are dishonestly pomoting a lie.

>LL>Union members pay dues. What their union does with those dues is
>LL>up to the chosen leaders of that union. Of course, the members of
>LL>the union choose who their leaders are. Just as the American people
>LL>choose who is to represent them in Congress.

EC>Of course, and what do they choose and why? The union investors invest
EC>where they think they can most likely benefit the fund that they manage.

Union leaders often invest where it would benefit themselves,
rather than the general membership. That is why corruption and
graft run rampant in unions.

EC>Their job depends on it.

Their (union leaders) incomes depends on it.

EC>The question is, why do the Democrats want to deny
EC>the same choice to ordinary hard-working Americans?

The social security program is for the benefit of the general public,
rather than for congresscritters. That is why Democrats, and some
Republicans, are fighting to keep the present social security system
intact, rather than to end it.

>EC>Non-responsive. I just pointed out that Bush is calling all for
>EC>suggestions, even Democrats. Does that mean that you have no faith in
>EC>the ideas of Democrats?

>LL>Democrats are very supportive of the social security program, as is.
>LL>If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

EC>So it is your opinion that the Social Security program is okay as is? You
EC>are one of few in America who think so. Even the Democrats in Congress
EC>don't believe that. They just don't want Bush to get the credit for fixing
EC>it. They want to continue to say, with you, that Social Security is the
EC>Democrats baby. Pshaw.

"I don't believe the way to fix Social Security is to have Wall
Street run it so that it can be invested in Enron and Tyco and MCI."
- Howard Dean, Democratic Party Chairman

If Bush's private accounts proposal is so popular, Dean would not
be DNC chairman, and Democrats everywhere would be falling in love
with Bush.
