Ärende: Unfathomable
====================
-> On 02 Jun 09 15:25:12, Ross Cassell got back to Dan Ceppa
-> Re: Unfathomable

DC> Ross, get real. I'm talkimg about excess truck deliveries, noise,
 DC> visits and the like.

RC> I was *not* talking about that, I was talking about those whom work
RC> from home for someone else, using such things as a computer and
RC> telephone. You are the one whom ignored this and took it to an
 RC> extreme.

It's not the extreme. It's an example of a home business that would
be disruptive to a neighborhood.

RC>> Painting a car is not the only aspect of fixing ones car or
 RC>> restoring one.

DC> And, having your car torn apart is one of those things. That is
DC> illegal ' in most residential areas. It can be so even in the
 DC> driveway.

RC> Which is why many do so in the backyard, maybe behind a fenced
RC> backyard or in a garage. I cannot believe you ever worked in the DIY
 RC> auto parts business.

Give it rest, Ross. I'm giving you facts based on direct knowledge
of events that have occurred to some of my customers. Yes, the situations
are different in different states. In fact, the circumstances can vary
in the same community due to zoning laws. Simply having your car up
on blocks in your own driveway can lead to a citation.

RC>> I am not the one running out in left field with this extreme, you
RC>> are and with a radical example. I presented a simple example and
RC>> I did not include the word urethane, you introduced that.

DC> It's called "an example", Ross. Even the more standard acrylic paints
DC> carry high levels of VOCs which are illegal to emit into the
DC> atmosphere. And, try and find an enamel car paint. That has been off
DC> the market \for probably 20 yrs now.

RC> What I presented was examples, you ran them up to extremes.

No, Ross. Those are the facts. Try buying car paint in California. You
need to be a registered paint shop.

RC> Someone restoring a 57 Chevy, you turned into spraying urethane.

The same holds true for acrylic, at least in California. It's not
an extreme. Have antifreeze runing down your driveway. It'll get
you fined most everywhere.

RC> Someone telecommuting, you turned them into a receiving dock.

It's called "a counter example". People have tried that and found out
that there zoning laws don't allow it.

DC> So what? I gave you examples as to why certain business operations
DC> would be illegal to run out of home. It's as simple. The fact is
DC> that not all home business are legal.

RC> I am not interested in your examples, I presented benign examples and

Of course you aren't, because those examples demonstrate that not all home
business are legal in the location that they are. You are under the very
mistaken premise that I am stating that all home business are illegal.
I never stated. I only stated that not evey home business is allowable
due to zoning restrictions.

DC> Wrong again. Ross. I gave you plenty of examples to demonstrate that
DC> not all all home business are legal, which is the point.

RC> Businesses that somehow meet your litmus test might be, I wasnt
RC> talking about those. I never remotely mentioned those that met your so
 RC> called examples.

That is not the point. You simply refuse to accept the fact that not every
home business is legal.

DC> Now, I suggest we both stop thes asides that you like ti throw out. I
DC> have no problems with retorting them. But, they clog the Echo with
 DC> unnecessary chaff.

RC> Maybe because of your dishonest debating tactics?

Bringing facts that demonstrate that various home businesses are illegal
is dishonest? LOL!

RC> To have you describe it, people would no longer be able to do Avon,
RC> Tupperware, Amway much less telecommute.

Once again, facts not in evidence. I know of few people that host
Tupperware parties in the same neighborhood, let alone house, more
than a couple of times a year. Avon is usually one on one. [S]Amway,
unless it's changed, os the same.

DC> You want another one? Prostitution is not legal.

RC> and was I talking about that??

It's a home business. So is growing pot in your basement.

RC>> If we could get the liberal whiny ass tree huggers to pipe down,
RC>> maybe we could build more nuke plants and windmill farms.

DC> That will still not solve the problem of "cheap coal" among other
DC> toxic wastes from other industries that are dumped into the air
 DC> and streams.

RC> and what do you suggest replace coal, I tossed out my suggestion, now
 RC> it is your turn?

For one, thing, a lower population would be a start.
