Purpose I suppose.  

What I've been reading lacks any objective content. Many of the so called
Democratic leaders have voiced discontent for the sake of making noise and
fueling hate.  Obstructiveness has become the platform of their party.

The stated goal of the House Minority Leader is to prevent George W Bush
from doing anything.  Period.  Not stopping him from doing what she thinks
is bad, but stopping him from doing anything without reguard to the
benefits for the country or the people.

For the past 12 years the Democratic Party has found out that they are not
as main stream as they want the reat of the country to believe.  It was
first proven in 1994 and then again every two years since.  The one
positive result of their behavior is that it has brought out more citizens
to vote in every election cycle.  The downer is that the increase in voter
turnout has only fueled their discontent.

Want to hair split or an opinion?

Critisism doesn't necessarly offer options to improve.  Well directed
dissent does at least present an alternative option to resolve a specific
conflict.

Bashing is nothing more than saying words to the effect "this place sucks"
then not support those words with the how or why it sucks.  Often the truth
is that "this place doesn't suck" and the words are simply the only way a
hate filled asshole can express himself.  

Watch and listen to the actions and words for the next 6 months.  People
like Dean, Polisi(sp), Kerry, Clinton and Kennedy will spew out trash that
will embarrass the reasoned Democrats but their loyal followers will echo
every word.  The question is will that rhetoric get out the far left but
turn-off the party's base?

Dissent has its place and when used effectivly often achieves worthy goals.
What we're seeing is dissent in name only.
