 Actually, if you wanted to bash Winston, why would we be
 concerned? After all, the Brits did after WW2.

 He was notable as a leader, but his drinking has been said to
 have cost lives.

 And you are right about how they took no notice of the locals.
 Which was typical of their behavior.

 Just reading about a phamlet from WW2, for American troops in
 Iraq. It started out by saying whether we were successful in
 Iraq depended largely on whether the Iraqis liked our men. And
 it gave instructions on how to behave according to local
 customs.

 They are reissuing it to current troops.
