Thats not your concern at all.

I know you personally have kid(s), and I suspect that as a parent you made the
choice to send your kid(s) through a education in either a public or private
school system.

But some parents want more control over what their kids are taught or what
their kids get exposed to, and I firmly believe this spans both sides of the
political and ideological divides.

We see examples all the time:

* parents dont want their kids held captive to religious dogma

* parents dont want their kids exposed to the promiscous liberal dogma that
  exists in school systems sex, drugs, peer pressure.

* parents dont want their kids taught by teachers who cant keep their 
ideologies out of the classroom or the curriculum.

and this does happen on both sides of divide.

* parents arent comfortable with the aspect that the school is no longer the 
safe place it once was. (read Columbine and Paduchah)

Some parents want more control of the curriculum and dont have that control
with the school systems, entire school years can be lost trying to work with
the system to effect change.

I have a co-worker who is home schooling his daughter with his wife's help, I
do know both them have ample college background, I will ask him what hoops he
has to jump through to satisfy the state, he lives in North Carolina. I did
briefly mention this topic to him this morning, he did say that colleges are
actually actively recruiting students whom have been home schooled.

The only issues I would have is perhaps the lack of socialiation, but you dont
really know what they lack beyond misconceptions. I would suppose there have
been cases whereas home schooled children were behind their peers, but then
again, we have seen this in the public school system and you cannot deny that.

Now answer my question, do you feel home schooling ought to be illegal?
