 In an airplane, maintaining a speed relative to a variable may
 well mean increasing the speed. Yes, it can. In the case of a
 fixed wing aircraft entering a turn, increasing the speed if
 necessary to keep above stall speed *DOES* mean the same as
 maintaining a speed above the stall speed.

 It is noticable that you are the one who posted the report that
 McCain failed to maintain a speed above the stall speed, but you
 keep leaving out the "above the stall speed" part. That is the
 variable he has to match in his flying. And if the stall speed
 increased then his airspeed had to increase. And that answers
 your objection in total.

 BTW, I did not say any report or article said he did not
 increase his speed. That is your distortion. You said his air
 speed "rubbed off" when he entered the turn. I said that was not
 necessarily so. Which is not saying it was absolutely not so,
 only that is is possible it was not so.

 I consider it very likely that it was not a decrease in his
 airspeed, but a failure to increase his airspeed, which resulted
 in his failure to maintain the *NECESSARY* airspeed.

 Now I know you are going to blow off on how he didn't have to
 increase his airspeed to maintain his airspeed. Which will
 demonstrate your dishonesty as no one said he did have to
 increase his airspeed to maintain his airspeed.

 He was not required to maintain his previous airspeed, but *AN*
 airspeed *ABOVE THE STALL SPEED*.

 A point which you continue to delete, which is dishonest of you.
