If this were TNG or TOS, I'd probably say not, but ENTERPRISE has generally
been good about keeping the same "face" on certain things. For example,
Admiral Forrest has been the main person from Starfleet with whom Archer has
had to deal. That will obviously change after Forrest's death a couple
weeks ago; maybe this Adrmiral Gardner will become the new point man back
home.

Of course, there are others in Vulcan society other than Kuvak who will see
their star on the rise, like T'Pau and Soval. At some point, I'd certainly
like to see humanity somehow tick off T'Pau, restoring her attitude toward
humanity that wie saw in "Amok Time" and giving her good reason to shun the
Federation Council.

True, but at the very least, you would need a board of inquiry to question
the necessary individuals. These things can and do take years, not hours...
unless some kind of deal is worked out under the table.

Hmm...maybe, but isn't that exactly what you'd expect someone in such predic
ament to do? Logically, flight would be the best choice...

Yes, but as I've said before, it is equally possibly, certainly probable
given the way things have been portrayed over the years, that once Spock saw
what a Romulan looked like, he made the logical conclusion that there must
be some kind of connection between the two species. I would suppose that he
was aware of the large exodus from Vulcan years before, leading to the
conclusion of that group turning out to be the Romulans.

I don't particular buy Spock -- or even T'Pol upon their first encounter
with a Romulan ship two years ago -- withholding such information,
especially from Kirk.

> After all, it hadn't been all THAT long since the Romulan war, and

But given the importance of such a revelation, I can't see him not at least
telling Kirk -- the man who helped him out during Pon Farr, if nothing else.

And it would have been very adventageous to Archer a couple years ago if
T'Pol had simply told him that Romulans were an off-shoot of Vulcans,
provide she knew.

As a Vulcan, he seemed way too emotionally invested in the situation, even
as lapsed follower of Surak. I'm also not particularly sure what he would
gain personally -- as he is portrayed -- out his actions if he wasn't a
Romulan. A war with the Andorians may have been necessary had the version
of events that he spun for the rest of the High Command been true, but as he
obviously knew otherwise, I'd think it would just be a costly affair. Not
that he would be the first meglomaniac who would prefer to see his people
pay the price for some sense of power, but again that would be an emotional
reaction.

On the other hand, a Romulan agent would see great benefit from a
Vulcan/Andorian war. Getting the humans caught in the crossfire would be an
extra bonus. And, hey, if the Klingons could be brought into the fight, all
the better. Perhaps there was even a plan for his extraction (covered by
some kind of "assassination," no doubt).

But now he's probably just considered expendable. Though you would think
they'd want to completely eliminate him, whether he's a Vulcan working for
their interests or a Romulan plant, as he knows too much...

[on Vulcans migrating from Romulus, instead of vice-versa]
> They wouldn't have chased
> the Vulcans off Romulus, they'd have exterminated them.

Actually, I think that would be too wasteful for the Romulans. They'd
probably simply enslave them...
but slaves can escape...
