Ärende: Battlestar Galactica

After seeing tonight's season finale of BATTLESTAR GALACTICA.... I have to
say, this has to be one of most exciting sci-fi series I've ever seen, with
all the twists and turns.  Interesting character developments,great
political maneuvering, nice moral/religious questions, and terrific action.
What more could you want?  Certainly, I don't see much here that couldn't
really be un-done to recreate a certain amount of status quo, but it is
clear that there are at least *some* changes afoot and a sense of pregress
in the quest for Earth.  Add to that the fact that things don't pass quickly
and easily here -- Starbuck was layed up with injuries for a few weeks -- I
think season two should have plenty of interesting stuff in store for us.

A few thoughts appear below -- for if you haven't seen it, trust me, you'll
want to remain spoiler-free.

It's interesting to see the actions Adama takes here, taking on a military
coup against the president.  Of course, it would be easy enough to get her
out of that prison cell, especially given what happens with Adama at the
end.   Then again, as bad as the injuries Adama took looked, it isn't beyond
the realm of possibility that he will recover.  Of course, the Galactica
crew now know that there's a Cylon in their presense.

Speaking of which, I have to wonder why all the other Boomers let the bomb
that Galactica Boomer left there go off?  I can only assume that they feel
it's part of the "big divine plan."  After all, Baltar has to get back to
the Galactica eventually if he is to protect the children of the
Cylons/human crossbreeding.

Of course, the humans have their own religious beliefs that guide them, as
well.  It's interesting that the machine Cylons have a monotheistic belief
(one god) system, while the humans are polytheistic (many gods, in this case
the Greek pantheon).  And although they seem to following separate,
seemingly prophesied paths, I can't help but get the feeling that there is a
certain link between both of their destinies.  That could go with the idea
expressed by the president last week that the universe keeps rerunning
itself...

Meanwhile, the Caprica plot that has been brewing all season gets really
interesting with Starbuck showing up to fight for the Arrow of Apollo with
yet another Six clone.  I'm not sure how Starbuck figured out so quick that
Boomer is a Cylon, unless it's simply because the other one should be on
Galactica with a wound to the head.  Still, you would think after being
unconscious she might be a bit unsure of why and how Boomer got there.  I
see the possibility that, now that the Boomer on Galactica has made her
move, the Caprica Boomer will eventually take her place...
