If it's an audio CD (or a mixed one with audio tracks), they can be 
ripped.  I suppose that there could be ways to "hide" things but it 
would seem to me that the audio tracks must be recognized as such.  If 
the program can't figure out what the name of the track is you can just 
name it yourself, either in the ripping process or afterwards.

I've used the older Easy CD Creator as well as the newer Easy Media 
Creator software equally well.  The ripping software is only in the full 
versions so it's something you'd have to purchase.  Worst case, you 
could play the audio and use the digital conversion (Spin Doctor in the 
older versions - I think it's called something else in the new stuff) to 
play the disc through the sound card and extract the audio going to the 
speakers.  Not desireable due to the extra time and complexity but it 
would certainly work.  I've done this sort of thing to digitize tapes 
and LPs...
