Ärende: IEXPLORER problem
=========================
Hello CHARLES,

Responding to a post in the WIN95 area:

Yes, I read the entire section, but only quoted the relevant portion. I
was thinking it was more important to conserve bandwidth.

GM>> I think I'll stick with Opera, for now.

I don't anticipate a need for javascripting. Just want a lean web browser
and if a site is trying to be "fancy", then I move on to some place that
offers something more universal.

CA> I honestly don't care for networking software. It seems it is

It's not my place to say whether you're wrong or not. You have been a
valuable resource to me as I continue my experience with DOS and Windows.

You are correct about the complexity aspects and anything you care to talk
about could be done much better, but I'm not going to rub sticks together
to start a fire, when I can use a lighter.

When I had decided to network my "pure" DOS box, so I could transfer files
between it and my Windows XP Pro, everyone that I talked to said they would
rather experience the pangs of childbirth than to attempt a network on a
DOS box -- this is why it took me two years. While Windows for Workgroup
v3.11 is not the best solution for a 16-bit OS, it was a better option for
me than 'contaminating' the DOS box with something (Win9.x) that would
alter (long file names) the DOS structure...

You have a website and you obviously have a browser (or two) and you
indicate that you have more than one computer.... It took me considerable
time to get my head around Network Interface Cards and configuring them
correctly, and while I do not profess to be a network guru, I would never
go back to using null modem cables and such. Virtually every version of
Windows (okay, you have to add the TCP software for Wfw3.11) has the TCP/IP
stack and it is all seamless in its operation.

           Cheers ... Gerald

... If I'm wrong, please dismiss this as merely the babblings of a madman.
