Yes you can, but the analogy is applicable in as much as with each incremental
year model car built, there is something new incorporated into the vehicle, be
it technology or asthetics. I bought a new 2005 Nissan Sentra, yet I can see
noticeable differences in the 2006-07 models, there is of course nothing that
makes me want to drop my 05 for a 06/07 or an 08.

The analogy actually went overboard, for there isnt a version of Windows
released every year as there are car models. The exception might be with
Windows 98 and then Windows 98SE. Windows 2000 and Windows ME, but that wouldnt
count since 2k was NT based and ME was still DOS based.

For one thing, no one is forced to do anything, I think that is evident by
people in this very echo sticking with what they got as opposed to having
rushed and upgraded.

Many companies dont hop onto the upgrade bandwagon as fast as you think, and
often wait until a new OS has matured, usually by the time its first or second
service pack has released. Thats talking workstations, many will use a very
mature server version for much longer.

Where I work, our workstations and cash registers are all under XP, they didnt
migrate our workstations to XP until late 2004-early 2005. But the main cpu
that serves the entire store is W2k server.

Microsoft despite all the evilness you and others think it is, wouldnt be very
smart if they didnt continue to develop its product, especially with all the
hardware development thats coming out and the various uses the computer can be
put to use for.

Hmmm do you think this is the only version of Golded that there ever was, why
did it progress from version to version? I know of its current development is
GNU but it used to be shareware. Adding new features, fixing bugs, changing
asthetics perhaps?

My email client, The Bat!, why do they continue developing it, version 1.9x was
the version I got when I registered it, yet its at 3.99, added functionality
perhaps?

Windows 98SE versus XP, are there differences in those OSes, you bet there are,
yet one can still do email and most web surfing on the lesser, but the greater
has some merits the other does not.

Lets go back to the car analogy.. The electronic ignition was a great
improvement over the points and condenser ignition system, should we have kept
the old, should innovation and improvement be stymied by stick in the mud
attitudes?
