I would set the drives to SATA (not IDE) and set up the RAID.  That way yer all
set and don't need to twiddle and reinstall anything.  Resetting the BIOS
afterwards may well break any RAID you have set up as well as things set up on
independent SATA drives that have been detected as IDE.  Just safer to do it
first so you never have to change it again.

I can say that copying over the i386 folder (and maybe a few other things)
didn't allow a slipstream to occur.  I never tried to determine what was
actually needed since the other files/folders simply don't take up that much
extra room compared to the i386 folder.  I'm sure the info on what's needed is
out there but I don't know what it is.
