Alan, in 1994 when I had the 486 box built I was asked if I wanted
WFWG3.11 or if I still wanted Win 3.1, I was unfamiliar with WFWG so I
chose Win 3.1.
I only wanted MS-DOS 5.0 installed on the box, I was going to install
Windows when and if I wanted to.

I wanted my A: drive to be 5.25" and he had a time finding DOS 5 media
for me. Yes, I also had a 3.5" drive for B:, a CD-ROM wasn't in the
deal, I put that and it's accompaning Sound Card in about 6 months after
he built my box.

About a month after my 486 box was built, I installed W3.1 because a
fellow at church was asking me questions about W3.1 and I'd tell him to
click on the Help that would be at the right hand side at the top of the
screen. But I went ahead and put W3.1 on my box so I could read the Help
files to be able to help him with his questions.

After having it on the box for awhile I started fiddeling with it more,
and then I got some programs, such as Juno 1.38 that wouldn't work in
DOS, so W3.1 became part of my everyday use.   ;-)

I have 32MB on that box. That's the maximum RAM the MB holds.

I'll probably not upgrade to WFWG or 95, I'll just not include it in my
plans. Which makes me remember I have already used DCC once between the
laptop and the P90 box when it had W95 Gold on it. I could still use
that option since the Parallel cable is still connected to the P90.

I looked at the PCI card and the large chip on it said D I G I T A L,
DEC 1993 on it. I would suppose the drivers would be on the 98SE media.

As I said above I may just continue with the DCC instead of opening the
box to install the PCI card plus buying a NIC for the laptop.
