If you mean will import messages then i don't think so but it will import
from Netscape.

If your removable tray means you system carries only one disk and doesn't
have a slave i would go for a full install using Mandrake 10.

Way to go. Make sure the disk you intend to install Linux on is the only
disk on the system. All you need do is boot CD-ROM and let the installation
partition the entire disk for you. Then just leave the package selection
as default and let it install its self. If anything is missing you can
install it later. I'm not sure how you connect to the Internet but you
will need the details of your ISP. It should intuitive to an experienced
user such as you self. What have you to loss? :)

Fortunately there have been big improvements in hardware detection and if
things
go wrong you can just install again over the top until you set it up the
way you want it. Later you can put a windows hard disk in as slave mount
it and backup anything you want or would like to manipulate onto the Linux
disk.

Your as sharp as a knife. As you say "it's a project". ;) If there is anything
you don't understand then we can move to the Linux echo and i will shadow
you we will get some feed back if you are using something besides a dial
up modem. If you decide to give it a go i presume you don't have a win-modem.

Let me know if you give it a go even if after the first attempt you decide
against it as ease of installation is a pet subject of mine and i would
like to know what problems you had.
