that's what the compress option is used for... it will zap them...

as far as you not being able to delete news postings other than yours, that's
normal... if you are not being "allowed" to delete your _news_ postings with
TB, then we need to know a few more details... if you are talking about when
reading these fidonet areas, then it is true that you cannot remove your
postings from circulation... fidonet echomail does not offer that capability so
it could be that the server you are using is set to not allow it or it simply
cannot do it...
