Agreed. However, On older machines; i have observed a remarkable slowdown for 
the entire system; Uninstalling sp2 seems to resolve the issue. As for the 
security updates, many of those can be avoided if the user runs a decent 
firewall; or is behind a properly maintained firewall; and doesn't surf the 
net with IE. *grin*

Oh, I didn't mean to imply the problem you see wasn't real; Just that i 
haven't (so far) seen it. My boss is very strict on licensing agreements, We 
follow them to the letter; He hasn't been in business for 21 years for 
cheating people. *grin*

The hardware it seems to have problems with are older machines, not always 
compaq or HP; but general AMD/Intel based clones. they tend to slow down 
considerably. This is something I believe MS is working on, so I'm patiently 
waiting to see sp2a which resolves it. I don't recommend slip streaming sp2 
because it kills some applications which aren't prepared for it, and depending
on the box; might tend to slow it down. I'd rather load it with sp1; and then 
if the customer would like, migrate to sp2; With the option of removing it 
should it not take properly.

I've worked on too many windows based PC's not to want an escape plan should 
something go wrong. heheh.

Luckily, By the time MS shipped us our OEM cds for installation; this was 
already resolved. Compaq and HP while still somewhat proprietary; they are 
getting better now. For the most part, they just use proprietary ram and 
possibly a few wires different on the ps unit now. But, not nearly as bad as 
they were a few years ago. Those were complete nightmares.
