As it has; I didn't try the ice but heat helped some of the time.  I'm
doing a whole lot better today.

If our girls were around, they could help.  Once they hit high school,
it seemed like I was back to doing it all by myself.

My parents did do some travel but I think they ate mostly very familiar
things; I could look at a menu and almost always know what they would
get in a German place.

You had the freedom to roam; the years I spent in Germany, I was married
and had 2 girls to take care of.

Have you heard of using a hip sack?  That, and an old fashioned canteen
with an around the neck strap would hold a bit of food & water, plus
room for some of your camer a gear.
