Sort of thought they might have collectables there; it sounded like
there was the possibility thereof. I know the PXs in Europe also sold
Wedgewood, including several collectable thimbles so I got a few. The
kimonos must have been pretty; our former pastor's wife in HI had one
mounted on her living room wall--all spread out--but she's
Hawaiian/Japanese.

Sounds like she redeemed herself somewhat.  Advanced classes usually
don't kick in until high school except for the talented and gifted
programs so the kids that don't get into them, have to come up with
their own ways of beating the boredom of the teaching to the average (or
below) student in the classroom.  Talented and gifted wasn't available
in our school system, nor was AP (same with Steve) but we both managed
to get thru.

Possibly--she would get college credits for her military training. I
talked to Deborah last night; she's still not ruled out the possibility
of becoming an officer.  /she was going thru a Wendy's drive thru so I
told her we'd had Taco Bell for supper as we had to do a quick, on our
way to class eating.  Also talked to Rachel & she said I "had" to have
Steve take me to the peach proccessing plant she and David took him to
several years ago and I "had to have" the peach cobbler with peach ice
cream. (G)  Peaches may be scarce this year because of the cold weather
we had in early April tho.

Sounds like it might be the thing for helping her make a decision, even
if it is a bit pricy.  Would it be in conjunction with your move?  I'd
probably be bored stiff (G) but Steve would enjoy it.

Only a few more months now.  Then you'll be back to shopping overload.

I did a lot in Germany but then I spoke a bit of German which helped. In
AZ there were several grocery stores close by off post and I got their
weekly ads to get an idea if there were sales I could hit up.  In HI, I
didn't get the ads most of the time and stores were a bit further away
so didn't go as often. Here Kroger is right on our usual path of travel
with Publix not that much further away, same with Food Lion and others.

I think we'll be skipping it this year.  We're going to be gone a good
bit of July (planned) and right now don't know if we'll have to take
emergency leave in the next few days--Dad (85 years old) is  having
unanticipated surgery today/tomorrow.  Steve just called me to remind me
to tell Mom when I talk to her to go thru Red Cross if the need for us
to go up on emergency leave arises.
